- Underline novel title
- Avoid weak words – things, stuff, gonna, really, very, etc.
- No comma splices (if you don’t know, ask me)
- Random capitalization
- Lower case i
- Write out all numbers under twenty
- Highlight at least two different compound sentences (punctuated correctly)
- Highlight at least one complex sentence
- A variety of sentence lengths
- A hook
- A topic sentence (hint use part of the question) with author and title
- Examples from text and self, world or other texts
- Try some transitions -- For example, For instance, To illustrate, etc.
- Wrap it up – have a concluding sentence. Start it with -- Overall,
