Resume Tips -
Tomorrow - One Cover Letter - on a job that you can apply for tomorrow or a dream job (after your apprenticeship/training/education)
Later in the week - The Grinch or Elf
- Visit www.myBlueprint.ca and log into your myBlueprint account with your email and password.
- In the left hand navigation menu, click Work and then select Resumes.
- Add a resume by clicking on + Create Resume.
- Complete each section of the resume (e.g., Contact Information, Objective, Education, Work Experience, Extra-Curricular, Volunteer Experience, Skills and Abilities, etc.) and add at least ONE (1) experience where applicable.
- When you are ready, click Preview Resume at the bottom right of your screen.
- When finished, you can either share your document or download it by clicking Export at the bottom right hand side of the page, then choose either the Share or Download option.
Resume Tips -
- Education about Experience or vice versa - most high school students include the Education section directly after the objective. However, if you have experience that relates directly to the job your are applying for, you should place the Experience section above Education.
- Use action words, in point form (accomplish, achieve, analyse, adapt balance, collaborate, coordinate, communicate, compile, conduct, contribute, complete, create, delegate, direct, establish, expand, improve, implement, invent, increase, initiate, instruct, lead, organize, participate, perform, present, propose, reorganize, research, set up, supervise, support, train, travel, work (effectively, with others)
- Limit your resume to one page
