2. Marshmallow Activity --
Materials needed:
- paper
- pencil
- one marshmallow
- 20 sticks of spaghetti
- one meter of tape
- one meter of string
- scissors
- Groups do not need to use all of the material
- The structure must be free-standing (which means they cannot be touching it in any way nor can it be leaning against anything)
- May break spaghetti to form smaller pieces and may cut string
- The ENTIRE marshmallow MUST be at the top of the structure.
- Marshmallow may not be used as an adhesive in any part of the structure
- Groups have 5 minutes of planning and 20 minutes to construct their structure
- Timer starts after 5 minutes of planning
- Structure will be measured from the bottom to the top of the marshmallow
